Marina Rees is a practicing artist based in Reykjavík, Iceland, whose artwork is concerned with our experience and understanding of natural history. Drawing research material in fields such as natural sciences and social sciences, many of her projects involve working with museums or other collections.
Marina holds a BA in Interactive Arts from Manchester Metropolitan University (UK) and MA in Fine Art from Wimbledon College of Art (UK). She has been involved in various projects and residencies, giving talks, leading workshops, and additionally does natural history museum curation work. She was also the co-founder and co-director of Fjúk Arts Centre in Húsavík from 2013 to 2016.
